Phase transition in dependent percolation

چکیده

In this paper we discuss two different models of dependent percolation on the graph Z2. We show that they both exhibit phase transitions. This proves a conjecture of Jonasson, Mossel and Peres [6], who proved a similar result on Z3.

Typeset Using Revt E X

We investigated temperature dependent optical conductivity spectra of La7/8Sr1/8MnO3. Its phonon bending mode starts to be splitted near a structural phase transition temperature. With further cooling, strength of a midinfrared small polaron peak, which is located at 0.4 eV, becomes increased. These temperature dependent changes in the phonon spectra and the polaron absorption peaks were explai...

Cluster Percolation and Thermal Critical Behaviour

Continuous phase transitions in spin systems can be formulated as percolation of suitably defined clusters. We review this equivalence and then discuss how in a similar way, the color deconfinement transition in SU(2) gauge theory can be treated as a percolation phenomenon. In the presence of an external field, spin systems cease to show thermal critical behavior, but the geometric percolation ...

Percolation Thresholds of Updated Posteriors for Tracking Causal Markov Processes in Complex Networks

Percolation on complex networks has been used to study computer viruses, epidemics, and other casual processes. Here, we present conditions for the existence of a network specific, observation dependent, phase transition in the updated posterior of node states resulting from actively monitoring the network. Since traditional percolation thresholds are derived using observation independent Marko...

Interdependent networks: reducing the coupling strength leads to a change from a first to second order percolation transition.

We study a system composed from two interdependent networks A and B, where a fraction of the nodes in network A depends on nodes of network B and a fraction of the nodes in network B depends on nodes of network A. Because of the coupling between the networks, when nodes in one network fail they cause dependent nodes in the other network to also fail. This invokes an iterative cascade of failure...

Monopole Percolation in the Compact Abelian Higgs Model

We have studied the monopole-percolation phenomenon in the four dimensional Abelian theory that contains compact U (1) gauge fields coupled to uni-tary norm Higgs fields. We have determined the location of the percolation transition line in the plane (β g , β H). This line overlaps the confined-Coulomb and the confined-Higgs phase transition lines, originated by a monopole-condensation mechanis...
